New playground at Thurton!

The front playground

The children designed a labyrinth and a story tellers area. We have planted a beech hedge between to grow and screen each area but won't be too tall so you can't see through.

While researching, the year 3 - 6 children kept on thinking about BeWILDerwood and we have a little house of our own with a very small door at the back! Because the land had a slight slope, a small move of soil has meant we were able to build an amphitheatre. We have a stage to perform on.

Reflective space - the children decided they needed an area where they can stop and reflect about their lives.

To link the front to the back of our school playgrounds, the children decided to add a "secret" path. As it grows it will become more and more secret. They love it!

Back playground

Den making area with house which can become anything!

Mound - the children wanted a mound to roll down and pull themselves up.

Photo of mound to come.

Trim Trail - this can be added to over time to make it even longer!

Sandpit which is really deep so we can DIG!

Behind the sandpit we have a range of tyres which are filled with different "surfaces" to play with small world equipment.
